In Ireland an average of 30,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year and cancer accounts for over one quarter of the annual death toll and after heart disease is the second most common cause of death in Ireland. 42% of men and 50% of women diagnosed with cancer currently survive for five years or more therefore it is important to have financial protection in place.
